A native of Appling County, Georgia born January 08, 1949 to the late Sibbett M. Merier, Sr. and the late Athleen Fleming Merier. He graduated from Appling County High School and attended Americus Technical College.
Eugene had been a resident of Brantley County for twenty seven years and was a veteran of the United States Army. Eugene was a member of the National Hot Rod Association. He enjoyed drag racing, fishing, and hunting. He leaves behind many memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Eugene’s parents, he is preceded in death by brother Berry Merier, and half-brother Sibbett Merier, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jeanette Merier, Waynesville, Ga.; daughter, Sabrina Lynn Merier Wood (Devin); sister-in-law, Geneva Lightsey (Jerry O.) JoAnn Merier; nephews, Joe Merier (Dawn), Ivan Merier, Timmy Merier, Donnie Stone (Amy); nieces, Jackie Neubert (Jim), Laryssa Stone (Michelle); cousins, Wayne Merier (Faye), Patsy Leggett.
Visitation is to be held 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 01, 2022, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home 3321 Glynn Ave. Brunswick, Georgia.
Visitation is to be held 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. Wednesday March 02, 2022 at Swain Funeral Home in Baxley, Georgia, followed by a graveside service at Omega Cemetery.
Serving pallbearers are David Clark, Randall Moss, Jimmy Humphrey, Kenny Dickerson, Jack Aspinwall, and Bobby Bean.
