Ellen Mozell (Stutts) Pearson was born in Brunswick, Georgia on May 22, 1928, she was 93 years old. The second oldest of eight children, Jack Stutts, Estelle Lewis, Ellis Stutts, Melba Louden, Marian Boandl, Mary Ruth Graham and Dora Jean Lane. She was the eldest girl. Her father was William Stanley Stutts and her mother, Dora Virginia (Morgan) Stutts. She was married to Perth Frankllin Pearson of Brunswick for nearly 60 years. Mr. Pearson died in 2007. She is survived by her two children, daughter Linda Pearson Flournoy and son, Perth Franklin Pearson Jr. Both children reside locally and were at her bedside at her passing. In addition, she is survived by three of her six sisters, Marian Boandl of Allentown, PA, Mary Ruth Graham of Darien, GA and Dora Jean Lane of Sterling, GA. As a young teen, she began her working life in downtown Brunswick at the Oglethorpe Hotel in the dining room, soon to be recruited across Newcastle St. to the Lafayette Grill where she worked in her late teens and during World War II. Soon after the war was over and the boys returned home from abroad, she met and soon married a handsome, young soldier from Hortense. He having recently gained employment at Hercules Powder Company, they settled on Stonewall St, in Brunswick. Within a couple of years, Linda was born in 1950. It was shortly after that, they purchased 15 acres from Mrs. Ali Grimpe a Finnish immigrant, just off Fourth St. It’s the same plot of land that she lived on her entire life. The small family was joined in 1952 by Frank Jr.
