Dylan Michael Coen, 18, of Brunswick, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Glynn County. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM with memorial service following at 3:00PM Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Simons Community Church with Corliss Jackson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be BHS Senior Class of 2013, Anthony Caraballo, Burton Geiger, Caleb Smith, Dalton Boatright, Dominic Oglesby, Dominique Carroll, Donovan Oglesby, Keith Andrews, Matt Kasik, Will Clifton, and Wyatt Holloway.
Born May 29, 1995 in Brunswick, Georgia to Jim R. Coen and Tricia W. Coffman, he was a 2013 graduate of Brunswick High, and was a lifelong resident of Glynn County. Mr. Coen was an avid sports fan and was a #1 Fan of Duke University Basketball. He also enjoyed playing Texas Holdem and other card games. He was employed at Marshside Grill and was a member of Sanctuary International Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Fahey, and great grandparents, Eleanor Myrbold, Thomas and Lathoma NeSmith, and Mark and Rose Coen.
Survivors include his father, Jim R. Coen and wife Kim of Brunswick, his mother, Tricia Coffman and husband Bud of Brunswick, two sisters, Ansley Hutchinson of Brunswick, and Cammie Heinhold and husband Brian of Hinesville, two brothers, Jacob Coffman and Mathew Coffman both of Brunswick, grandparents, Mickey and Betty Coen of Brunswick, John Weathers of Tampa, Ruby Weathers of Tampa, several aunts and uncles including, Jon D. Coen of Jacksonville, Jay M. Coen and wife Pam of Phoenix, AZ, Jerry T. Coen of Brunswick, Amy E. Smith and husband Allen of Brunswick, and John H. Weathers and wife Babbie of Brunswick, and numerous other family members. Memorials may be made to Ansley Hutchinson, 108 Hornet Drive, Brunswick, GA 31525, proceeds will used to establish the Dylan Coen Baseball Tournament Scholarship Fund.
