Dot was born in Brunswick, GA on January 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Fred C. Funderburk and the late Zelda Clark Funderburk. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dave Wesley Murphy; her two sons, Eddie “Ray” Goodbread and Robert L. “Bob” Goodbread Jr; and two brothers, Fred Funderburk Jr. and Pete “Norman” Funderburk.
Dot was a former Emergency Medical Technician, a volunteer with the McIntosh Fire Department, and former Coroner of McIntosh County. She was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Darien. She loved to fish and enjoyed the beauty of the marsh. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter-in-law, Sandra Goodbread; grandson, Robert E. “Bob” and his wife Tina; three granddaughters, Sandy Goodbread Wasdin and her husband Robert, Judy Goodbread Rozier and her husband Emory, and Zelda Goodbread; also one brother, Dorsey Clark Funderburk and his wife Diane; surviving sister-in-law Alma Funderburk; 13 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; Stephanie Vilchis, Cade Funderburk, Sonya Coon, David Funderburk, Sara Huestis, Heidi Cammer, Rachel Erickson, and numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.
A private family graveside service to honor Dot’s life was held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 23, 2021 in the St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien, Georgia.
