Denny was born in Savannah, GA, and had been a resident of Townsend for the past 4 years and a former resident of Brunswick for 25 years. He was a Recreational Specialist with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick for 30+ years. He taught Defence Driving and DUI classes in Liberty and Chatham County.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brunswick and was a member of the Duncan Sunday School Class of the Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Calysta Thompson.
Survivors are his wife, Pandy Thompson of Townsend, two sons, Don Thompson of Paradise Valley, AZ and Patrick Thompson (Katie) of Bluffton, SC, his father and mother Joe Thompson and Tina Thompson both of Richmond Hill, GA, brother, Joe Thompson, Jr. of Bluffton, SC and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick with Rev. Richard Soper officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Noah Williams, Mike Murphy, John Thomas, Stanley Santee, Cecil Kennedy, Donnie Pope, Dane Hutcheson, Clay Hamlin, Brian Little and Steve McNicoll.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Monday night.
