Born David Davidson Rawlins on January 25, 1945, in Washington D.C. to Robert Haigh Rawlins and Charlene Davidson Rawlins, he grew up in Kensington, Maryland. Dave graduated from the University of Florida, where he was a Sigma Chi, and then the University of Georgia School of Law. He served as United States Assistant District Attorney for the Southern District, Assistant District Attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, followed by 35 years serving clients in the private practice of law.
Dave was married to Cindi Creswell Rawlins for 57 very happy years. He loved to read Matthew Henry, teach Bible classes, spend casual time with his family, swim and play canasta with Cindi and his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two lovely daughters Martha Davidson Heid (John) and Elizabeth Huntington Sproule (Greg); as well as brother, John Haigh Rawlins; grandchildren Christian Davidson Heid, Mary Elizabeth Creswell Heid, Clayton Rawlins Sproule; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at Christ Church, St. Simons at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2024, followed by interment at Oglethorpe Gardens Memorial.
