David John Poppell

David Poppell, 53, of Hortense, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at his home. David was born on May 20, 1968, in Tucson, Arizona, to Ernest and Daphne Poppell. He was a 1989 graduate of McIntosh County Academy. On October 8, 1994, he married Donna Michelle Lambert. They started growing their family in 1997 with the birth of their first child, Vivian Michelle Faye. In 1999 they welcomed a son, Caleb John Clayton, following in 2001 was another daughter, Olivia Lynnette Kay. They were blessed again 2016 with twin girls, Evangelina Daphne Claire (EvieClaire) and the late Genevieve Donna Lucille, who passed away before birth.

David was a hard worker with a good sense of humor and liked by all. He was a War History Buff and had an extensive collection of Hot Wheels Cars. He enjoyed working with his hands, creating and building things such as miniature shrimp boats from match sticks and toothpicks. Most of all he enjoyed being home, surrounded by his wife and children. He was an amazing husband and father who had strong family values. David will be remembered most of all for his endless devotion to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Michelle, daughter Vivian, son Caleb, daughter Olivia, daughter Evangelina, and his mother Daphne, younger sister, Lisa Manor (William), younger brother, Randy (Kimberly), and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father Ernest Willard Poppell and his daughter Genevieve Donna Lucille Poppell.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 1 to 2 PM with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2 PM in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with David E. Lambert officiating.
