It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dale Eugene Hamilton, who left us unexpectedly on April 10, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on December 25, 1955, in Savannah, Georgia, Dale was raised in Rome, Georgia, by his loving parents, Wayne and Ruth Anne Hamilton, and grew up alongside his sister, Karen Hamilton. Dale lived most of his life in Georgia, making homes in Marietta, Albany, and then retiring to St. Simons Island.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra Rose Hamilton, his sons Lee Hamilton and Dan Hamilton (Whitney), and her daughters, Andrea Fowler (Jesse) and Jaclyn Pettinato (Jake). Additionally, he leaves behind their beloved grandchildren: Larkin, Austin, Luke, Jake, Maddie, Jaxston, and Aria.
He grew up playing soccer and football then went on to attend the University of Georgia, and served in the US Navy.
He enjoyed reading history, particularly on the American Revolution and Civil War. He also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and was often heard yelling, "Go Dawgs!" Golf had always been a true passion, either playing or watching, and he never missed a Master's. His greatest love of all though was watching his grandkids play baseball. He watched every game, even if he was six hours away on his iPad. Although he was regarded as a quiet man, he was never quiet when it came to talking sports with his grandkids and family.
Dale dedicated more than 40 years of his professional life to the National Distributing Company, where he ascended to the role of Vice President, before retiring in 2018. His passion and dedication for his work, and his true kindness and respect for everyone he met, will leave a lasting legacy.
Dale had a smile that warmed up a room and will leave a lasting impression on everyone's hearts he met. He always made sure his family was well taken care of and is known by many as an honorable man. His wife Sandra was the light of his life and his forever soul mate.
Dale was a true gentleman.
In this time of mourning, we take comfort in the love and memories we shared with him. He will be deeply missed by many, and forever remembered.
