Connie Marie Davis, 81, of Darien, gained her angel wings Friday, February 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Davis Family Cemetery in McIntosh County with William Porter, Shane Griffith, Seth Griffith, Tyler Keith, Brian Hope and Earl Townsend serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Townsend, Paul Davis, Jr., Roger Parker and Phillip Davis.
Born August 2, 1942 in Townsend, Georgia to the late Arlie Tavy and Hazel J. Townsend, she was retired from the US Postal Service. Mrs. Davis was a member of OES Neptune Chapter and had served as Worthy Matron. She also was a member of Daughters of The Nile, and White Shrine. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, cooking and travel. She had been a resident of McIntosh County for most of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Davis, a son Bobby Griffith and fiancée Nita Smith all of Darien, three daughters, Cyndi Lou Griffith of Darien, Corliss Wade – Willis and husband Billy of Brunswick, Melody Griffith – Hall of Jacksonville, three stepchildren, Barbara I Davis – Hoffman of Jacksonville, FL, Paul L. Davis, Jr. and wife Susan of MacClenny, FL, and Phillip R. Davis and wife Julie of Bryceville, FL , 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, a sister Maude Porter of Brunswick, a brother Gene Townsend of Fernandina, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
