Born July 18, 1941, in Waynesville, Georgia to the late Troy and Mildred Pearson, he moved to Florence, South Carolina at an early age and was a graduate of McClenaghan High School in 1959. Clinton moved back to Brunswick after graduation and worked for Brunswick AM stations WMOG and later WGIG as a disc jockey in the golden age of radio. He was an avid fan and collector of music over his lifetime. He attended Brunswick Community College in its first years of inception and went on to graduate from University of Georgia in 1967 with a degree in Political Science. After graduating from UGA he clerked for a prominent law firm in Brunswick while attending the John Marshall Law School in Savannah, Georgia, where he obtained his Bachelor of Law in 1973, and was subsequently admitted to the Georgia Bar.
Clinton practiced law for several years before being appointed Glynn County Juvenile Court Judge in 1977. He served as Juvenile Court Judge from 1977 through 1988 and following his tenure on the bench entered private law practice in Downtown Brunswick. He was a prominent fixture in the legal community and Brunswick’s downtown for many decades and was recently honored for being a select member of the Georgia Bar still practicing for over 50 years.
