Chris was born on September 30, 1953 in Brunswick, GA to Kenneth and Wynelle Peeples. Mr. Peeples spent many childhood summers on family farms in Camden County, GA working in tobacco fields and developing a love for animals-a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Chris was a graduate of Brunswick High School, and, after a short stint in the U.S. Army, he served his community as a firefighter for several years. For 10 years, he was employed by Gillman Paper Company in St. Marys, GA, before going into business with his wife, Pam, brother, Hugh, and sister-in-law, Mari Anne. Together they owned and operated Salvador’s Delicatessen in Brunswick for many years. Chris and Pam then branched off on their own with P & C Deli. Both restaurants were well known in the community for their quality foods and southern hospitality.
Before his health began to decline, Chris was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. His hobbies also included carpentry, gardening and customizing golf carts. He was a Georgia Bulldogs fanatic, as well as, an Atlanta Braves fan.
