Chester “Chet” Alan Morris, 64 of Brunswick, departed this life Friday, July 2, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick with the Reverend James Minick and Reverend Skip Wells officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Surrency, Georgia. Deacons of Northside Baptist Church and Senior Men’s Connection Group will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Born April 22, 1957 in Jesup, Georgia to the late James Carroll and Kay F. Morris, he was a graduate of Glynn Academy Class of 1975. Mr. Morris was retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation Brunswick Mill where he worked as a millwright for 43 years. He was a lifelong resident of Glynn County and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick where he also served as a deacon. Mr. Morris was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, grilling, and making pound cakes to share with others. He also adored spending time with his twin granddaughters. Chet loved his Lord and Savior and his family fiercely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Greg Morris.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rebecca Denise Hunter Morris of Brunswick, a daughter Jenny Morris Kersey and husband Larry of Baxley, a son, Ben Morris and wife Racheal of Atlanta, two granddaughters, Olivia and Kendall Morris, a sister Kristi Graham of Brunswick, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, July 6, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. www.edomillerandsons.com
