Charlie was born to Roy and Esther Crumbliss on July 16, 1949 in Brunswick, Georgia. He was a proud graduate of Glynn Academy and also graduated from Miami Dade College with a degree in Marine Science Technology. After graduation, Charlie worked for NOAA in Miami, Florida. Following that, he worked as a manufacturer's representative at Crumbliss and Associates.
Charlie married Jan on May 19, 1973 and they just celebrated 49 years of marriage. Together they raised three girls, Christy, Anna, and Betsy.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Charlie also loved serving his church, First Baptist Church St. Simons Island, and being the “golf cart guy” at his Alma Mater, Glynn Academy. He enjoyed being involved in local politics and was a proud member of the Republican Party. Charlie was always thinking about the best for his community and country. One of his favorite pastimes was watching and supporting the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Hurricanes. Throughout Charlie’s entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Esther Crumbliss; step-mother, Charlotte Crumbliss; brother, Tommy Crumbliss; and half sister, Jeanne Crumbliss. He is survived by his wife, Jan; three daughters, Christy Stokes (Jeff), Anna Crumbliss, and Betsy Andrews (TJ); three grandchildren, Reese, Everett, and Palmer; sister, Janet Wilhelm; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church St. Simons Island, Samaritan’s Purse, National Rifle Association, or the Republican Party.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at First Baptist Church St. Simons at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
