Carolyn Mikell Martin

Carolyn “Ginger” Martin, 95, of St Simons passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. She was predeceased by her husband, Tony Martin, whom she was married for over 67 years. She was also predeceased by two brothers.

She was born on 31 July 1927 in Waycross, GA to the late John and Minnie Mikell. She attended Glynn county public schools and Perry business school.

She is survived by five children, Toni Johnson (Steve) Jacksonville, FL, Cheryl Wilkes (Jimmy) Braselton, GA, Terri Braddock, Frederick, MD, Rocky (Kathy) Burlington IA, and Jet Martin, San Diego, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Ginger enjoyed gardening, painting, and especially the natural wildlife on St Simons. She was Catholic by faith.

Her wishes are to be cremated and her ashes, along with her husband’s, scattered over the Atlantic Ocean.

Many thanks to the hospice staff who attended to her for almost two years and made her comfortable in her last days.
