Carl Patrick Talley Jr.

He was born May 12, 1938, in Montgomery, Alabama to Carl Patrick Talley, Sr. and Missouri Gipson. He graduated from Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, attended the University of Florida, and earned a BA in Accounting from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has resided on St. Simons Island since 1970. Pat retired from the Sea Island Company as the Director of Information Services. Pat was a devoted son to his parents, a great big brother to his siblings, and a loving husband and father. He was a gentleman and was a mentor to many of his friends and colleagues. Pat enjoyed spending time with friends playing tennis, golf, and cooking on the grill for a crowd. He enjoyed rooting for the Florida Gators and the Atlanta Braves. Pat and his wife of 60 years, Cookie, annually hosted a Kentucky Derby party where Pat’s signature Mint Julep was a tradition.

Survivors include his wife Clyde “Cookie” Candler Talley, son Scotland Talley, wife Leslie, of Lake City FL, son MacGregor Talley, wife Cheryl, of Savannah GA, sister Merry Talley Lewis, husband Gene, of Birmingham AL, sister Robin Talley Meyers, husband Allen, of Gainesville GA, and sister Frances Talley Smith of St. Simons Island.

He was preceded in death by his brother Chris Talley, his brother-in-law John Staten Smith, and his parents.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 4:00 till 6:00 pm at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, Ga. The family will hold a private service at a later date.
