Dr. Dohn was born in Macon, Georgia on September 20, 1949 to the late Carl Weiss Dohn, Sr. and the late Frances Dohn. He graduated from Presbyterian College and continued to earn his Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Georgia. He served as Chief OBGYN Resident at University Hospital of Jacksonville, Florida, and as a Captain in the U.S. Army.
During his 41 years of medical practice, Dr. Dohn held several positions including Diplomat of American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and American Fertility Society. He was a member of Glynn County Medical Society and served as Chairman of the Department of OBGYN and Credentialling Committee for Southeast Georgia Health System. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Dohn was a master woodworker and was given the opportunity to design and execute the 2004 G-8 Summit Conference table, which currently resides in The Cloister at Sea Island.
Dr. Dohn is survived by his loving wife Brenda Dohn of St. Simons Island, Georgia; his children Lyn Moore (Dan), Bucky Dohn (Alison), Brent Dohn (Ashley), Dani Blount (Brook), Mary Frances Glover (Robert); 10 grandchildren Lauren Ashley, Taylor, Adeline, Channing, Weiss, Harris, Hattie, Merritt, Ellie, and Eleanor and our Nana, Bernice Davis.
A memorial service is to be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Simons Presbyterian Church where Alan Dyer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Simons Presbyterian Church.
