Brenda Lamb Lightsey, 70, of Darien, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Darien. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Dana Swain and Charles Troutt officiating. Interment will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Darien with Montee Hatcher, Alan Keith Dixon, Cody Dixon, Rick Jones, Ryan Jones, and David Ryals serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are staff members of Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Born June 5, 1946 in Alma, Georgia, Ms. Lightsey was a retired nurse from Life Care Center in Hilliard, FL. She received her Nursing Degree from Brunswick Community College and lived most of her life in McIntosh County. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed painting and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Mildred Lamb, and Raymond and Edith Watson.
Survivors include five children, Ray Lightsey and George Lightsey both of Jacksonville, FL, Allen O’Cain of Danville, TN, James Lightsey and wife Paige of Darien, and Theston Lightsey of Jacksonville, FL, eighteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, six siblings, Yvonne Ryals of Jacksonville, FL, Cherryl Beecher and husband Franklin of Darien, Clayton Watson and wife Brenda of Dothan, AL, Richard Watson and wife Marjorie of Eulonia,Ga., Larry Watson and wife Annette, Johnny Collins and wife Carolyn, and Sherry Heath and husband Terry all of Jacksonville, FL, a sister in law, Pam Lamb of Darien, and several nieces and nephews, and special care givers Lisa Beecher and Sunny Lin Powell of Darien.
