

died Wednesday morning February 15th, 2012 in her home.
Mrs. Prevatt was born in Brunswick, GA and lived in Darien until
she was 12. Her family moved to Jacksonville, FL where she graduated
from Andrew Jackson High School. On August 30, 1947 she married Jesse
Vernon Prevatt, Jr.
Bobbbie was employed with Boeing, Co. at Cocoa Beach, FL during
the Space Age. She worked for Mr. Ed Gray, President of Southeastern
Bank, after returning to Darien in 1982. In her post-retirement years
she worked for the Darien Telephone Co.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Darien.
Mrs. Prevatt was preceeded in death by her husband, Jesse V.
Prevatt, Jr., a daughter, Renee Prevatt Conway, and her parents,
Clarence and Robbie Gordon.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna E. Padgett and her husband
Barry of Mobile, AL and Anise M. Black of Huntsville, AL, five
grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday February 18,
2012 at the First Baptist Church in Darien with the Rev. Daniel
Serapin officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews cemetary.
Active pallbearers will be: Allan Ryals, Ronnie Bethune, John
Cox, Roy Parks, David Stevens and Ken Johnson.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 to 8
p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012. Memorial donations may be made to
the First Baptist Church in Darien and Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
