Barbara Lincoln Cowden, age 102, of Saint Simons Island, GA entered peacefully into Heaven’s Gates on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Barbara was born April 23, 1920 in Taunton, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Ralph Leonard Lincoln and the late Pauline Eaton Lincoln. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, John Cleveland Cowden, Jr.; and three sisters preceded her in death.
Barbara was a devoted and active member of St. Simons Presbyterian Church. She was strong in her faith and enjoyed her church activities. She was an honorary member of the Presbyterian Women USA. She was a deacon and past president of the Women’s Association at her church. Barbara was also devoted to her family and love ones. She always cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Also she enjoyed the lifestyle that the island had to offer.
Left to cherish Barabara’s many memories are her two sons, Robert A. Cowden of Brunswick, GA and Ralph Cowden of Braselton, GA; and a Brother, Robert E. Loughman of Wolfboro, NH.
A memorial service to honor Barbara’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at St. Simons Presbyterian Church, 205 Kings Way, St. Simons Island, GA 31522. Barbara will be laid to rest in St. Simons Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
