Anne "Holly" Barksdale

Sandersville, GA, and Glynn County, GA died September 10,2012 at home

surrounded by loved ones.

Graveside services will be held at Christ Church, Frederica, St. Simons Island,

GA Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with arrangements handled by

Edo Miller Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Barksdale was born on May 22, 1924, the daughter of Holland N. (Mac)

McMichael and Eloise Chapman McMichael of Sandersville.

Mrs. Barksdale was a graduate of Sandersville High School, North Georgia

College and Georgia Southem University.

Described as "a genuine southem lady," she worked in real estate, accounting and

hotel hospitality prior to her retirement. She also served on the Glynn County

Board of Equalization.

As a member of Christ Church, Frederica, she was a member of the Daughters of

the King.

Mrs. Barksdale is survived by her husband and former high school sweetheart,

Hiram C. Barksdale; daughters, Jean Bleakley Adrian, Laura Bleakley

Touchstone and Anne Bleakley Jones; son Edward Arthur Bleakley III; four

stepchildren, Hiram "Chip" Barksdale, Beverly Barksdale, Sally Barksdale

Kinney and Addison Andrew Barksdale; six grandchildren, Frederick Cook

Bruce, Lawson Ward Touchstone, Holland Elise Touchstone, Edward Arthur

Bleakley, IV, Tanner Pace Bleakley, and Samuel Holland Bleakley (Jack-Sam);

and great-granddaughter, Cassidy Bruce. She was predeceased by her former

husband Edward A. Bleakley; sister, Virginia Crawford Critz;' and brother Charles

T. McMichael.
