Ann Thigpen Murray

Ann Thigpen Murray, 66, of Brunswick, Ga. died Wednesday June 23, 2010 at the Brunswick Hospital of Southeast Georgia Health Systems. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jim Wilkerson officiating Mrs. Murray will lie in rest one hour prior to the service Saturday, June 26, 2010 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Followed by a service in Lakeland Georgia at the Lakeland United Methodist church at 5 P.M. Where Mrs. Murray will lie in rest one hour prior to service with Interment following at in Burnt Church Cemetery in Lakeland, GA.

Mrs. Murray was a native of Lakeland Georgia but had lived in Brunswick for the last forty seven years. She graduated from Lanier County and attended ABAC College for two years. Her and her husband owned Murray landscape in which they retired from after 40+ years of service. She was a faithful member of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church for 10 years and was a member of the Brunswick Country Club . She was married 41 years to her husband Dixie Murray. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She helped in the development of the Nottinghill subdivision and was a genuine neighbor and friend.

She was survived by two sons Wade Murray and wife Kim of Statesboro, James Murray of Brunswick, two sisters Libby Shaw and husband Jay of Lakeland, Sue Benefield and husband Jimmy of Lakeland Georgia, Four grandchildren Anne Tanner Murray, Isabelle Murray, Moya Murray and Corben Murray, Mother in law Virginia Giddens and several nieces and nephews, a brother in law Steve Murray and wife Janet, a sister in law Joann Mathis and husband Marshall She was proceeded in death by her husband Dixie Murray and grandchild Elizabeth Sue Murray and her mother and father Wallace Thigpen and Eloise Thigpen, father in law Moy Murray, mother and father in law Nora and Woodard Bailey

Visitation will be held Friday June 25, 2010 from 5 pm. to 7 pm. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.
