Mr. Cox was a native and lifelong resident of Brunswick. He was retired from Hercules, Inc. after over 30 years of service. He was a member of The Crossing at Brunswick.
Mr. Cox was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Army in Europe. He received the Purple Heart, w/Oak Leaf cluster; Bronze Star, w/Oak Leaf cluster; Combat Medical Badge; European-African-Eastern Campaign; World War II Victor Medal; Army of Occupation Medal w/ German Clasp; Presidential Unit Emblem Star; Meritorious Unit Emblem w/ Oak Leaf cluster; Honorable Service Lapel Button; WW II Battle and Campaigns Star; Marksman w/ Rifle Bar.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Mae Cox, his parents, Samuel L. and Alice C. Cox and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors are two daughters, Gloria Mosley (Gerald) of Brunswick, and Mary O’Neal (Troy) of Madison, GA, two sons, Louie Cox (Barbara) and Benny Cox both of Brunswick, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff O’Neal and Rev. Dan Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Military Honors at the Graveside.
Active pallbearers will be: Alton Mosley, Dennis Mosley, Wesley Cox, Justin O’Neal, Casey O’Neal, Lawton Mosley, Alex Mosley, Joshua Harris and Zachary Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will; Allan Cox, Bryan O’Neal and his nephews.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, April 14, 2013.
