Agaytha "Gayle" Readdick Holloway

Agaytha “Gayle” Readdick Holloway, 80, departed this life to go home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, October 8, 2021, at Southeast Ga. Health System, Brunswick Campus, following a brief illness.

Gayle as she was affectionately known was a Brunswick native; she was born on September 23, 1941 to Herbert and Eva Anderson Readdick. She was a 1959 graduate of Glynn Academy, and a graduate of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Brunswick Junior College (now College of Coastal Georgia). She was employed by the Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital (now S.E. Ga. Health System) as a CRTT for many years until her retirement in 2000. She was also a member of Blythe Island Baptist Church, and was a Sunday School Teacher there for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister who embraced being a grandmother and took her role seriously.

She loved family and friends immensely and was loved immensely in return. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 56 years, Cayce Holloway, Jr. and her parents, Herbert and Eva Readdick.

She is survived by her son, Cayce Holloway, III (Cindy) of Brunswick; her daughter, Carolyn Nuss (Brooks) of Dublin, GA; two grandsons, Brooks Nuss, Jr. (Kaylie) of Cumming, GA and Nicholas Fraser (Hannah) of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Terry Readdick (Jenifer) of St. Simmons Island; her aunt, Lynnah Bumgardner of Brunswick; also a host of cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service to honor Gayle’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral with Rev. Calvin Anderson and Blythe Island Baptist Associate Pastor, Aaron Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service in Palmetto Cemetery.
