Born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico and came to the United States under the Migrant Worker Program of the 50s where she then was able to become a Naturalized U.S. Citizen. Married to Hector H. De La Rosa for 55 years and a mother to 4 children, a grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great grandmother to three great grandchildren. Teresa was employed by the Brownsville Independent School District as a clerk and finished her career as an executive secretary of 20 years upon her retirement.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Hector Higinio De La Rosa, Sr., and her children George Anthony, Hector Higinio, Jr., Edward Alejos and Yeseñia Perez.
Teresa was preceded in death by her father Alejos Hinojosa and her mother Eulalia Rodriguez; her sister Genoveva Escobedo; her granddaughter Laura Alayna De La Rosa, and her grandson Michael Sebastian De La Rosa.
Teresa H. De La Rosa also leaves behind 8 grandchildren Rosita, David, Miranda, Alek, Alaya, Alyssa, Gabrielle, Daniel Eli and 3 great grandchildren Lorenzo, Eliseo and Jaxson to cherish her memory.
A visitation for Teresa will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. A mass will occur Monday, November 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Guadalupe, 1200 Lincoln St., Brownsville, TX 78521, followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are George De La Rosa, Hector H. De La Rosa, Jr., Edward A. De La Rosa, Martin Rodriguez, Arturo Perez III and David P. De La Rosa.
