After graduating High School and studying at Berea College (KY), he enlisted in the Unites Sates Air Force. While on a tour of duty in Paris (France), he met his future wife, Madeleine. The young couple's first state-side assignment was Hunter AFB in Georgia, followed by a tour of duty at Travis AFB, California. A subsequent transfer brought the family to Randolph AFB in Texas, and after 20 years' service, Bob retired and went to work for St. Mary's University in San Antonio. The Family lived in San Antonio for 35 years before Bob and his wife chose the South Padre Island area as their retirement home.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Madeleine; son Marc of Joshua, Tx; daughter Muriel and husband Carlo of Zurich, Switzerland; and seven grandchildren: Josiah (Jordanne); Hannah; Daniel; David; Glory; Grace; Mercy, and their mother, Allison. Also, surviving are two sisters and one brother and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Spring.
