Richard David Caldera, 61, of Brownsville, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Brownsville, Texas in the comfort of Brownsville residents surrounded by his loving family at Spanish Meadows Nursing Center.
Richard David Caldera, the son of Lydia G. Martinez and Mauro V. Caldera was born May 30, 1963, in Brownsville, Texas. He attended Porter high school and graduated on the year of 1981 while participating in band. Richard was known to be a man of many joking words. His presence created an atmosphere of love, happiness and family. Those who know of this wonderful man, call him Ricky. As we know Ricky had an admiration for all things adventure and completing tasks. He always had a love for fishing, handy-man work, mechanics, dance, travel, his motorcycle rides and of course cooking. He had a great dedication to his work at Home Depot, McDonald’s, and of course his independent work as a handyman on Angies List at San Antonio, Texas. The family of Richard D. Caldera would like to thank the office of Dr. Miguel A. Molinas, Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Specialist office and staff, Spanish Meadows of Brownsville, Valley Regional Medical Center- Brownsville and all nursing staff who assisted him throughout his treatment.
He is survived by his mother Lydia G. Martinez, brothers Mauro Caldera Jr. (Carmen Cortez), Mauro G. Caldera Jr. (Neri Caldera), sisters Rosalinda C. Lopez (Christian N. Lopez) and Yolanda C. Aguilar.
He was preceded in death by tio + J.J. Gomez (Alicia Gomez), grandparents +Juan and +Maria G. Gomez, father + Mauro V. Caldera (Virginia G. Caldera), great grandmother +Lucia F. Garcia, sister +Elizabeth C. Garcia (Ramon Garcia) Niece +Laura Lizbeth Galvan, sister-in-law +Silvia Caldera (Mauro Caldera Jr.), and stepfather +Manuel Martinez (Lydia G. Martinez).
Mr. Caldera also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, June 27, 2024, with visitation from 12pm- 9pm and rosary at 7pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, Texas 78526. On Friday, June 28, 2024, mass will begin at 2pm at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (El Buen Pastor) on 2645 Tulipan St, Brownsville, TX 78521., followed by the burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, Texas 78526.
Serving as pallbearers are Mauro Caldera Jr., Mauro G. Caldera Jr., Amalio Galvan III, Juan Aguilar Jr., Christian N. Lopez, Richard Garcia, Luis E. Matamoros, and Luis Alejandro Matamoros.
