Rene Vasquez

René Vásquez, 69, passed away May 11, 2017 in Brownsville, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Castulo and Juana Vásquez, brother's; Juan anLeonel Vásquez, and sister; Minerva Mora. Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Gloria Vásquez, children; René (Alison), Eduardo (Blair), Amanda Garcia (Ricardo), grandchildren; Matthew, Catalina, Luke, Vienna, and Paloma, and 7 brothers and sisters. At a young age, he could be seen with a guitar in one hand, and a fishing rod in the other. After graduating Brownsville H. S. he served his country in Vietnam from 1969 - 1971. Married Gloria Robledo in November 1970. Went to college at PAN American Univeristy earned a B.B.A. We honor his memory and years of music ministry in the Catholic Church, and his generous spirit. Pallbearers will be Tomas Vásquez, Luis Carlos Vásquez, Marc Mora, Luke Garcia, Federico Lambert, and Jaime Cortez, Honorary Pallbearers will be Carlos Perfecto Guajardo, and Michael J. Torres. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 12pm to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. Mass Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10am at Holy Family Church followed by a committal service at Buena Vista Burial Park with Military Rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2035.
