Port Lavaca - Raul Garza 96, Raul Garza went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2024, after battling his last battle with his health. He was born on August 04, 1928, to the late Pauline Kingsbury and Nicholas Garza. He served his country beginning at the age of 15 as a member of the United States Navy for 5 years during WW11 in the Pacific Seas. He is an Old Salt and held all Service Men and Women in the highest regard. He worked for Burton Auto Supply during his younger years. Later on in life, he worked as a Longshoreman for the Port of Brownsville with many long-life friends like Mr. Harry Noble and then dedicated several years to US Customs.
Raul was preceded in death by his wife Margarita M. Garza, his oldest son Raul Garza Jr., and his long-time companion and "Love of his Life" Angela Gonzalez. He is survived by his son- Rolando Garza(Cecilia)and his daughters-Cecilia Gomez -Cleo Elee(Ken) and Delia Poe(Alan). He leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Chris-David-Daniel(Vianey), Cassie(Joey)-Brett(Katy)-Roberto-Edward-Vanessa(Eddie)-Cody(Lisa)-Kenny(Raquel)-Crystal and Bianca. Raul also leaves behind 15 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Granddaughter. He also leaves behind several extended family members. While He will be greatly missed on Earth - We find Peace that He will be waiting for us in Heaven! MAY HE REST IN PEACE!
A memorial service for Raul will be held Friday, June 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7 pm in Chapel of Angels, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Angels, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial of ashes with full military honors will occur Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
