Pete honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1990 after 42 years of dedicated service with the City of Brownsville/PUB. His smile endeared him to all whom he met. He lived a full life and enjoyed puzzles and spending time with his family.
Pete is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tomasa (Nena) Hernandez; children: Lupita (Robert) Schneider, Pete, Jr. (Olivia), Margarita (Jose) Villarreal, Juan (Cathy), and Raul (Cyndi); grandchildren: Pete (Kim), Eric (Kristen, fiancée), Jennifer (Balmore), John (Katie), Robert (Patty Segura, fiancée), Austin Hernandez, Aleisha Chastain, Matt Sweat, Gina Hudson, and Ernest (Carla) Herrera; and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several cousins, nephews and nieces

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Funeral services for Pete will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Veterans Honor Guard.
