She is preceded in death by her mother Florinda Cortez Garza † and her father Erasmo Conde Garza †.
Mary, as she was known to all, was born on January 19, 1938 in Brownsville and lived here all her life.
She is survived by her sisters Lidia Garza Romero and Olga Garza Selley; by her brother Erasmo Garza;by her nieces and nephews: Linda Garza Romero, Ana Teresa Garza, Javier Erasmo Garza, Mikaela Garza Selley, Nicolas Garza Selley; and by her grand niece Alana Garza.
She worked as as legal secretary in the Texas State Court and later in the Federal Court under Judge Filemon Vela until retirement. She was a member of the Cameron County Legal Secretaries Association and became its president in 1992. As a little girl she dreamt of building her own house and would look at magazine plans with her father and make plans. She finally realized her dream in 1997. We will miss her joy and laughter although everytime we laugh we will remember her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 5pm- 9pm with a rosary at 7pm in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. A chapel service will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 10am in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista followed by the burial at 11am in Buena Vista Burial Park.
