Maria De Jesus Lucio “Chacha” Lucio was born on June 17, 1944 and she passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012. She passed away in her home in Richmond, Tx. She was surrounded by just a few of the many people who loved her dearly & will forever cherish every last moment that they spent at her side.
Chacha is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Hector Lucio and their 3 children & their spouses, Sonia Lucio, Vanessa Brady & her husband Craig Brady and one son, Omar Lucio with his wife Alejandra Lucio. Four beautiful grandchildren, Madison, Kyle, Morgan and Julian who were the Joy of their Grandmother’s heart. Although the family resides in the Richmond area, Chacha made the decision to have her remains be placed at the same location where her loving parents, Geronimo and Elida Espinosa are resting. She is also survived by her 4 brothers and their spouses, Roberto and Margarita Espinosa, Geronimo (Jerry) and Martha Leticia Espinosa, Alejandro and Diana Espinosa and Noe and Juanita Espinosa. Countless nieces and nephews too many to mention. She was also a huge part of the family into which she married; The Lucio family with Brothers and Sister in Laws; Rosalinda Cervantes, Carmen Lucio, Anna Graciela Rodriguez, Alma Lucio, Daniel Lucio, Luis Carlos Lucio and Fernando Lucio. Again, countless nieces and nephews who adored their Tia Chacha.
In her early life she studied cosmetology which came in handy throughout the years for her loved one ONLY! They were the fortunate ones to have received the benefit of her talent. Perhaps one of her greatest talents was the one she shared with the over 100 children she cared for her home for over 31 years. She cared for each and every child with so much love and devotion. She made homemade meals for her children and family daily and served them up with a warm smile and always has kind words for those around her. She baked homemade Birthday cakes for each and every child she babysat as if thou they were her own children. She had a heart of Gold.
As stunningly beautiful as she was on the outside it was no comparison to her inner beauty and grace. She will be dearly missed by all those who were privileged enough to have had the blessing of knowing her. We are in peace because we know that we walked her to the Shiny Gates of Heaven where God is awaiting her.
