Marcos as a young boy was an altar server at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Marcos was drafted by the U.S Army and later attended college after he got out of the army. Marcos left at the early age of 17 years old to work in California. He worked with the Los Angeles Times.
He retired from the newspaper and went to teach in Riverside, California. He retired as a teacher at Riverside, California and he went to live in Morelia, Michoacan-Mexico, where he lived for 15 years.
In Morelia he worked in a private school teaching english. Marcos returned back to Brownsville, Texas on June of 2021. Recited with his sister Rosario Mendez. He enjoyed spending hours reading at the library.
Preceding him in death are his parents Timeteo and Juanita Marroquin and brother Rolando Marroquin.
He is survived by his siblings Rosario Marroquin Mendez and Sergio Emilio Marroquin of Fayetteville, N.C. children, Gabriela and Kaelo, both residing in California, step-son Gabriel Marroquin and an adopted son Michael Marroquin.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2022 from 12pm - 9pm with a rosary at 7pm. A mass will be held on Monday, January 23, 2022 at St. Luke Catholic Church at 10am.
