Manuel was born in Durango, México on September 15, 1945 to Cesario Marquez and Anastacia Rodriguez Marquez.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and a sister, Teresita Marquez.
He is survived by his wife, Lorenza Galicia Marquez; one daughter, Luana Marquez, three sons, Manuel Marquez, Jr., Marco Antonio Marquez (Darla Crow Marquez), and Mario Alberto Marquez; and his greatest pride and joy, his three grandchildren, Cameron Wayne Marquez, Micah Anastasia Marquez, and Mallory Ellen Marquez; three brothers, Jose Angel Marquez, Cesar Marquez and David Marquez; four sisters, Luz Marquez, Martha Marquez, Juanita Hernandez and Alicia Vera; and various other relatives all of Brownsville.
Manuel had worked for Duro Paper Bag Company for nineteen years and finished his time of labor working for HEB in Port Isabel for about fifteen years, where he will be missed. One of Manuel’s favorite hobbies was gardening.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 from 11 am – 9 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with a prayer service at 7 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Templo Bethel, 2965 Tampico Street, Brownsville, TX on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 10:00 am.
Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Marquez, Jr., Marco Antonio Marquez, Mario Alberto Marquez, Cameron Wayne Marquez, Robert Rubio, Arnold Garcia, and Rene Hernandez.
