“He proudly served his country in The United States Coast Guard. He then completed his education with a BBA and MBA from UTPA. He worked at the Brownsville Herald for eighteen years before realizing his true calling as an educator. He spent his remaining years as a teacher and mentor to thousands of students whose lives he impacted, all the while serving as a loving husband to his wife and father to his three sons”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Ruth Lawrence.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Betty; his sons, Larry and his wife Lisa; Bobby and his wife Nina; and Michael and his wife Amanda, and his grandchildren Bryan, Paige, Chloe and Ava.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Lawrence, Jr., Bobby Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Bryan Lawrence, Lloyd Lawrence, and Cliff Lawrence.
Visitation will be held from 8am to 11am with a chapel service at 11 am on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with a committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
