He adored his wife, loved his son, and cherished his grandchildren.
He was the funniest brother and the coolest uncle.
He was a devout Catholic and active member of Holy Family Church.
He enjoyed life with all. He was a man of few words but his actions spoke volumes. He was quick to lend a hand without wanting to receive anything in return. His rough hands showed his work ethic but were gentle enough to hold you. His smile could light up a room and his laughter would bring the house down!
His memory will live through the people he touched.

Jose Luis is survived by his wife, Florencia Hernandez; son Gerardo Hernandez; brother Jose Urbano Hernandez, brother Juan Hernandez, brother Lazaro Hernandez, brother Francisco Hernandez and sister Martha A. Herrera; grandson Daniel Oceon Hernandez, grandson Andres Gerardo Hernandez and granddaughter Miranda Brisa Hernandez.
A visitation for Jose Luis will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 9:00 AM, folllowed by a burial at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
