Janie G. Almazan

Graduated in 1975 from Homer Hanna High School. Worked at sears from 1996 - 2002, served as Treasurer for Resaca PTO 2011 - 2014. Janie was an active member at Lord of Divine Mercy where she volunteered her time at every kermes.

Janie is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Almazan; her daughter Cristina Almazan; and her daughter Lisa Ann Almazan; her brother Ignacio Garza and her sister Guadalupe Palacios; her grandson Joey Guerra, her granddaughter Bianca Guerra and her grandson Izzy Garcia.

Janie was preceded in death by her father Lorenzo Garcia † and her mother Senobia Garcia †; her sister Maria A. Carr †; her brother Celestino Garcia † and her sister Alejandra Garcia †.

A visitation for Janie will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Lord of Divine Mercy, 650 E. Alton Gloor Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78526. Followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX.

Serving as pallbearers are Joey Guerra, Joe Almazan, Modesto Vasquez, Mauricio Castillo, Manny Sandoval and Jorge Paredes.
