Jaime was a native of Brownsville, born to Rojelio Gonzales and Carmen Benavidez Gonzales. He graduated from Pace High School, Class of 1990. He pursued his education and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Brownsville. Shortly thereafter, Jaime was employed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection where he currently had 21 years of experience. Jaime was well known and respected by his CBP Family nationwide.
He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Sandra and one son, James Alexander. Parents, Rojelio and Carmen B. Gonzales, two brothers, Roberto and Eduardo Gonzales, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Kerrville, Tx.
We would like to recognize and give a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and the rest of the medical staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen and Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville for providing such excellent and compassionate care during the time he was there.
Our family will receive friends at Del Angel Funeral Home, 125 McDavitt, Brownsville, Texas starting on Sunday, September 10 from 1:00 p.m. until midnight with a rosary scheduled at 7:00 p.m. A celebration of Jaime's life will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brownsville on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Monsignor Bert officiating the mass. Burial with full CBP honors will be at Buena Vista Burial Park at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Del Angel Funeral Home, 125 McDavitt, Brownsville, Tx., 78521.
