Isabel "Mari" Castañeda Cortez

Isabel "Mari" Castañeda Cortez, 65, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Brownsville, Texas. Isabel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a grandmother to her only granddaughter Camila Luna. Isabel loved spending time with her family and volunteering at Our Lady of Good Council. She loved to dance and was an avid Chuck Norris fan. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Isabel is preceded in death by her husband Rolando G. Castaneda, father Telesforo Cortez, mother Leonor Cortez, sister Mercedez Cortez, brothers Arturo, Guadalupe, Jesus and Manuel Cortez.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons Telesforo Cortez and Rolando (Melinda) Castaneda, granddaughter Camila Luna Castaneda, daughters Ysenia O., Kassandra L. and Michelle I. Castaneda, sisters Josefina, Teresa, Sofia, Edubijes and Clara Cortez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 10am to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista. Funeral Mass on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10am at Our Lady of Good Council followed by a committal service to Buena Vista Burial Park.
