Hector worked with The City of Brownsville for 20+ years in the sidewalk department. He was a hard working man who never said no when someone needed a hand. Friends and family who knew him, you all know that he loved to dance. He would be the first one to open up the dance floor and the last person to leave. God needed an angel up there and he chose the perfect man for the job. Remember the moments that he spent with you and keep those memories close to your hearts. He will be missed. “We love you Dad.”
He is preceded in death by his mother, Delia Lopez De Varela and his brother, Juan Antonio Varela.
He is survived by his loving wife, Trinidad Salazar; father Felix Varela; 6 children, Sandra Trinidad (Luis Jaime) Peña, Maria Esmeralda (Federico) De La Garza, Hector (Jaqueline) Salazar, Jr., Eric (Belinda) Salazar, David (Yolanda) Salazar, Emmanuel Salazar and 17 grandchildren.
