Guadalupe Gloria Cortez Camarillo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Brownsville, TX. She was a longtime resident of Brownsville who lived the last ten years of life with Alzheimer’s disease. She was cared for by many great physicians, nursing professionals, and her family. The family wishes to thank Angie, Juanita, and others for providing such excellent care over the last few years.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her beloved husband Luis of 46 years and her five children Luis Jr., Corinne, Michael, Edward, and Richard. Also, by her 5 grandchildren Richie, Seth, Jessica, Matthew, and Zachary and 5 great grandchildren. She has three brothers, Richard, Raymond, and Marcelo. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Gloria Cortez.
Gloria will be remembered as a loving Catholic who loved her children and husband. She served as a LVN for 32 years. She had a big heart and always helped those in need. She stressed the importance of education to her children and always provided for them before her own needs.
Visitation for Gloria will be on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista .
Funeral Services for Guadalupe Gloria Camarillo will be on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 555 W. St. Francis St, Brownsville Texas. Committal service will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers: Marcelo Cortez, Joey Camarillo, Ricardo C. Pacheco, Jr., Christopher C. Haggstrom, Matthew Rincones, Alex Gauna. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Richard Cortez and Raymond Cortez
