Frank Hernandez was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 30, 1996, to Filiberto Hernandez and Rufina Hernandez. Frank, or as his brothers and sisters called him “Frankie”, was the youngest of the boys, which consisted of six siblings.
At home, Frankie was known for his funny personality, his hard-working ethic, his good-cooking, his affectionate hugs, his appreciation for his family’s support and his ambition to live life. Frankie was a true Mexican at heart. He loved wearing his boots and his Tejana hat, even if it was just for a short drive down the street.
Sometime after high school, Frank began working alongside his father in the fishing industry and often talked about how much he appreciated those years because of the long talks and bonding he had with his father. After his father retired, Frank ventured out looking for another adventure as a commercial fisherman. He often talked about how his competitive nature made him a better worker. He always attempted to be the fastest and most efficient worker he could be.
Despite the feeling of satisfaction that fishing brought him, there was nothing else that Frank loved more in this world than his son, Sebastian Hernandez. Sebastian was his proudest accomplishment. Frank was a kid at heart himself, therefore he really enjoyed watching Pikachu and Dragon Ball Z with his son. He often expressed his yearn to be a good father and expressed how much he missed him during the time he spent away from him. We have no doubt in our mind that the day Frankie passed away, that his very last thought was that of his son.
We will miss you Frank, now and forever. Your family will continue to watch over Sebas until it’s time for us to meet you and daddy up there in heaven.
We love you!
