entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Brownsville, Texas. Estefana graduated from Brownsville High School and upon graduation, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Franklin's Dept. Store. Later, she went to work for A & I Finance Co. She also worked at the Brownsville Employment Office from which she subsequently retired.
Fannie continued being active in her community and church. She enjoyed volunteering at the Brownsville Public Library for several years. Since her husband "Cele" had been a Marine Veteran, Estefana felt very honored to be in the Ladie's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Organization (VFW). She loved helping her church. Her greatest joy came from teaching catechism classes to 52 children who were making their First Holy Communion at Christ the King Catholic church. When asked how many children she had, she would proudly reply that she had 52 of them! Later, and until her passing, she became a parishioner at The Good Shepherd Catholic Church. While there, she belonged to the group of Christ Divine Community.
Fannie will be remembered for her deep devotion to our Lord, her love for family and friends, her delight for home and plants, and her very generous spirit. Also, she will be especially missed for her endearing sense of humor.
Now, our beloved Fannie, may you bask in the glory of God's Holy Light!
