Ms. Cortez is preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Luisa Gutierrez; and her aunts, Rosa Grizwold, Anna James, Angela Villarreal, and Aurora Gutierrez.
Cynthia is survived by her parents, Luisa and Carlos Cortez; sisters, Carol (Eddie) Salas and Carla Cortez; brothers, Charles (Crystal) Cortez and Chris (Aretha) Cortez; seven nephews; four nieces; one great niece; uncles, aunts, and great friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be conducted at 7:00p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, which will conclude all services.
