He is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Consuelo F. Sosa.

He is survived by his common law wife Josefina Ramirez; daughter, Silvia S. Barrientos from Brownsville, TX; step-daughter, Evelia B. Vasquez from Yakima, Washington; sons, Benjamin Sosa Jr. from Huntsville,TX and Jose Antonio Sosa from Austin, TX;step-son, Armando Benavidez from Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren, Julie G. Ramirez, Benito Gomez III, Ben Gomez, Brax S. Gomez, Bricen Gomez, Little Benjamin Sosa, Joe Vasquez, Mary Alice, Emily V. Nelson, Federico Tinker Vasquez, Alejandra Vasquez; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11am to 9pm with a holy rosary at 7pm on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.

A chapel service will be held at 10am on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
