Belinda was a beloved wife and mother, who had a big heart for everyone. When someone needed her she was always there. Her role was not only to be a mother or a wife. She also worked at Villareal Elementary, and then opened up her own daycare which lasted a few years. Then worked at Las Yescas Elementary. When she stopped working her world revolved around her grandkids. She loved being a mother of 5 but her greatest gift of all was being a grandmother of 12.
Belinda is survived by her husband, Oscar Cortez; her son Oscar Cortez Jr.; her son Daniel Cortez; her daughter Cassandra Cortez; her daughter Deandra Cortez; and her son Izaiah Cortez; her father Francisco Barboza; her brother Frankie Barboza, her brother Tony Guerra, her sister Kristal Guerra and her sister Jessica Herrera; her grandchild Miranda Cortez, her grandchild Jayden Cortez, her grandchild Albert Valerio, her grandchild Jesus Valerio, her grandchild Callie Cuevas, her grandchild Keyanie Strong, her grandchild Jackson Cortez, her grandchild Izaiah Leon Cortez, her grandchild Maddilynn Strong, her grandchild Lorraine Strong, her grandchild Aubree Cortez and her grandchild Mateo Cortez.
Belinda was preceded in death by her mother Guadalupe De Los Santos †.
A visitation for Belinda will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista.
