He was born in Villa Gonzalez, Tamps. Alfredo immigrated to the U.S. in the 50’s and became a U.S. citizen in May ’94. He retired from Farmer Coop Compress in Lubbock, TX. He loved to garden and his passion was music (XEMS) radio station. He lived life to the fullest and loved to tell jokes and stories. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He will be laid to rest on his birthday (July 9th).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elidia A. Castillo in Jan. 2001.
Mr. Castillo is survived by 4 sons, Jorge Luis Castillo, Javier (Flor) Castillo, Joe (Martha) Castillo, and Alfredo Castillo, Jr. (Veronica) all from Brownsville, TX; 8 daughters, Juanita Castillo, Marta (Ricardo) Cantu, Rosie Merkich all from Brownsville, TX, Palmira (Joe) Vargas and Sylvia Castillo from Houston, TX, and Dolores (Cesar) Sifuentes from Galveston, TX, Norma Castillo from Ventura, CA and Esmeralda Castillo from Dickinson, TX; 2 brothers, Victor and Alfredo Castillo from Villa Gonzalez, Tamps; sister, Dolores Castillo from Brownsville, TX; 28 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jorge Luis Castillo, Jr. (grandson), David Ricky Cantu (grandson), Jimmy Castillo (grandson), Javier Castillo (son), Alfredo Castillo, Jr. (son), and Omar Labao (grandson). Honorary pallbearers will be Ramon Benavides and Reyes Benavides
Visitation will be held from 9am to 9pm on Friday, July 8, 2011 with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Visitation will resume Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11am with a chapel service at 2pm.
Interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
