Daniel was born on August 9th,1956 in Albion, Mauritius to Kiw Sen and Soi Yin Ip Lun Shu. At the age of 26, he left Mauritius to pursue work opportunities in Zambia. He returned to Mauritius a year later to marry his sweetheart, Kiam Chin Diana Ah Sang. They have two children, Sharon and Jason.
Daniel had a great love for Southern Africa and spent the majority of his life in Botswana. It was there that he became an avid golfer and an active member of the Gaborone Golf Club. He also took great pleasure in cooking and eating all types of cuisine. He loved travelling and was fortunate to have visited many countries during his lifetime.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife, Diana; his daughter, Sharon, and his son, Jason. Also mourning his passing are his mother Soi Yin; his siblings Philippe, Regis, Cecile, Jacqueline, (Joanne), and their families; his in-laws, Chin Lan and Ah Sioung, Cathy, Kate, Karen, Andrew, Vincent, Ah Ying, and their families; as well as his extended family and friends here in Canada and all across the world.
Daniel was predeceased by his father, Kiw Sen, and his younger brother, Clifford.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 7 pm to 10 pm and on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm at La Maison Darche, located at 7679 Taschereau Boulevard in Brossard (J4Y 1A2). A funeral service at the chapel will follow the visitation on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel's memory may be made directly to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation. A donation box will also be available at the funeral home.
