SMITH, Virginia C., age 71 of Weeki Wachee, Florida, died Friday, November 24, 2017 at her home.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, she moved to Florida 8 years ago from Long Island, New York.  She was a home maker and of the Protestant faith.  Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jerry; sons & daughters-in-law:  John & Gail Smith of Lexington, South Carolina and Jerry, Jr. & Donna Smith of Freeport, Long Island, New York; sisters & brother-in-law:  Bonnie Bedel of Schoharie, New York, Joyce & George Voight of Jensen Beach, Florida, Grace Mazzeo of Copake, New York and Angie Beck of Weeki Wachee, Florida; grandchildren:  Jessica Smith, John Smith, Jr., Chelsea Smith, Malory Smith, Robert Leitner and Mark Leitner; great grandchildren:  Carmelina Smith, Gracie Lynn Smith and Tillman John Smith; nephews and their wives:  Joseph Mazzeo of Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York, Richard & Kim Smith of Patchogue, New York and Jimmy & Justine Smith of Island Park, New York; nieces and their husbands:  Debbie & Larry Murolo of Jensen Beach, Florida, Traci & Nick Commianni of Weeki Wachee, Florida and Christine & Charlie Lennon of Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Ann Smith and brothers, Clifford Beck & Leo Beck.  Visitation for friends will be 5-8pm, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel where funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 with Pastor Thomas Almond officiating.
