Shirley Ann Shiflett

Born in Osierfield, GA November 15th, 1930 and raised in Tampa, FL.  She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1948 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Clyde David Shiflett Jr. (David) who preceded her in passing and was awaiting her arrival by the pearly gates. She was a Southern Gospel pianist and volunteered her talent in several of the churches she attended including, Orient Park Baptist Church, Tampa, FL, Garden Grove Baptist Church, Garden Grove, FL, Wartrace Baptist Church in Wartrace, TN, First Baptist Church and Eden Baptist Church of Brooksville.  Wherever she and David attended church they became active members and dedicated themselves to whatever area they were needed.  Shirley painted many murals for her community, as well as in many of the local churches.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

She is survived by her four children, Deborah Bedell, Cynthia Ressel (Jimmy), Larry Shiflett (Barbara), of Brooksville, FL, and Michael Shiflett (Sandy) of Lake City, FL; sisters, Mary Lou Martin (Bruce) of Crawfordville, FL and Joy Lee Smith of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, David, Ben, Scott, Blair, Star, Belinda, Amber, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Mikinley, Samuel, William, Bryce, Aurora, and Summer. 

She will be laid to rest in the Lake Lindsey Cemetery beside her husband, David of 67 years.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 1st, at Eden Baptist Church, 22308 Lake Lindsey Rd., Brooksville, FL 34601. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eden Baptist Church or your favorite charity in her honor.
