Born June 29, 1959 in Opp, Alabama, he was the son of Clarence and Christine (Gillis) Smith. Roger was the owner and operator of Amax Welding and Fabrication for over 20 years. He loved hunting, fishing, airboating, western shows, and most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Smith; his children, Michael Smith and Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Brianna Smith, Michaela Smith, and Shyla Smith; and brothers and sisters, Helen Sawyer, Danny Smith, Ann Snoddy, Steve Smith, and Junior Smith.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00pm, Friday, February 2, 2024 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville, 2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601, where a Memorial Service begins at 2:00pm.
